BEVEL COFFEE

Bevel Coffee transforms a modest storefront into a warm, community-focused café. Designed in close collaboration with owner Kevin Mejia, the project balances operational efficiency with an inviting customer experience, creating a space that feels both functional and welcoming.
The renovation reimagined the existing shell through a palette of warm materials, custom millwork, and thoughtful accent lighting, elevating the everyday coffee experience and making it approachable. A focal point of the café is the custom mural spanning the espresso bar by artist and illustrator Ben Sanders, whose work welcomes guests with a playful visual narrative that celebrates community and connection. Sanders is also a part-time professor in the Illustration Department at ArtCenter College of Design.
