Pour You Coffee Brings Adaptive Reuse Project to Shoppers Lane
A new chapter has begun along Shoppers Lane, as Pour You Coffee quietly opened its doors with a soft launch, adding to the evolving character of the historic retail corridor in Covina.
The space, which more recently operated as a dance studio, has been reimagined into a contemporary cafe designed with an emphasis on clarity, warmth, and intention. The transformation was led by MAAM, working in close collaboration with owner Keith Waggoner.
The project centered as much on process as it did on outcome. Early conversations focused on establishing a shared direction for what a neighborhood coffee shop could be - less about trend, and more about creating a space that feels grounded and accessible. That approach carried through design and construction, where existing constraints of the former tenant space were adapted into a layout that prioritizes flow, light, and everyday use.
Now open in its initial phase, Pour You Coffee introduces a setting that balances simplicity with detail - where material choices and spatial decisions subtly shape the customer experience. Its arrival reflects a broader pattern of small-scale, locally driven businesses continuing to reshape Shoppers Lane, reinforcing its role as a neighborhood destination.
